Cornudas Salsa Festival

Cornudas Texas is hosting a Salsa Festival on Saturday July 26th. Do you make a great salsa, or enjoy sampling them? The winner will receive a grand prize of 1 acre of land 🤑 Everyone is welcomed to come out to judge the best salsa! Live music provided by Fungi Mungle.

Doors open at 12pm, with live music and entertainment starting at 1:30pm. Patrons will begin tasting and judging salsa at around 2:30pm. Additional food items will be served all day including pizza, Elote, sausage, drinks, and more!

How it works: Contestants will bring in their salsa to enter the contest no later than 2pm. Patrons will begin sampling at 2:30pm by purchasing a chips and queso kit with 10 tickets for $20. Each salsa will have a number, and patrons will walk around tasting the salsas of their choice and dropping tickets in their favorites. People's choice, the salsa with the most tickets wins the prize! The chips will be UNLIMITED. Winner announced at ~5pm.

Salsa Contestants: $20 entry fee. You will be asked to sign a simple waiver releasing Cornudas of all liability for your salsa. You MUST have your salsa on site ready to go by 2pm. You can prep it at home and bring it in. We ask you bring AT LEAST 2 gallons of salsa. Cornudas will provide all sampling materials, just bring the salsa and your entry fee.

Rules: There are very little! The salsa contest is completely open. It will be up to the contestants to choose spice level, color, consistency, etc. The only rule is that it generally would be considered salsa by the average person. Otherwise, it's wide open. Anyone can join. We ask that on top of signing the waiver, you be able to list your ingredients and be willing to eat your own salsa in front of the Cornudas Crew and patrons. If you won't eat it, neither should we!

Fungi Mungle will be performing from 4-6pm and hosting a 70s contest for those who want to participate. The best dressed/danced/themed will win a little prize from Cornudas as well as $100 cash. Dressing up is obviously not required, but let's have some fun!
